Pauwel De Buck utilizes field recordings of surplus sound materials from the urban environment. His composition methods are as much time-based as they are sculptural and spatial. The resulting works traverse between concrete sound environments and abstract aural spaces.

The site-specific "chamber music" pieces of Mieke Lambrigts are subtle sound tapestries woven from location recordings and sine waves. Tailored to specific locations, her immersive works function as sound environments rather than music pieces.

A former student of Asmus Tietchens, Oliver Peters has been recording as Evapori since 2002. His compositions are culled from diverse sources: field recordings, self-built objects and treated acoustic instruments. These sources are carefully interwoven to create atmospheric, yet complex and unpredictable music. Peters co-founded the AIC label in 2002 with Nicolas Wiese (aka [-hyph-]) and recently released the LP "Fumes" on the legendary Walter Ulbricht Schallfolien imprint.

Helena Gough's impressive debut CD "with what remains" (Entr'acte 38) involves the collection and manipulation of "real-world" sound material and the exploration of its abstract properties. Each sound piece is created by taking everything possible from the tiniest element - working to create something from nearly nothing. Her live sets involve recombining and improvising with her sound materials in order to create a unique environment for each new performance.

Yôko Higashi is a performer, vocalist, choreographer and dancer. As hamaYôko she creates "musique concrète-influenced electro-pop", a combination which has pricked the ears and raised the eyebrows of listeners and reviewers alike.

Lionel Marchetti's interest in music resides in the qualities of sound. His musique concrète work incorporates sound collage and academic electro-acoustic composition, though the level of poetry and refusal of genre boundaries in his music puts him closer to Kristoff K. Roll and Luc Ferrari than Pierre Henry or Bernard Parmegiani.
